Towards a snowy start to the year in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region? Météo France has extended snow and ice vigilance to around forty departments in France for this Friday, including that ofAin.
The Ain department is on alert for snow and ice all day Friday. The meteorological organization warns of risks of “locally slippery floors in the morning” due to icy conditions and some snowflakes.
A “disturbed” weekend according to Météo France
The first weekend of 2025 promises to be disrupted, according to Météo France forecasts. “The disruptions will continue until the end of the weekend with rain, snow on the mountain ranges and wind on the agenda. Temperatures, initially falling and very wintery, will rise again during the weekend,” warns the institute.
In the Ain department, Friday promises to be cold with only -4°C to 2°C in the morning and between 0 and 4°C in the afternoon.
Friday evening will be polar with negative temperatures throughout Ain, ranging from -1°C to -7°C. The coldest temperatures will be recorded in the east of the department with the presence of freezing fog.
Finally during the night, -9°C is announced in the Hauteville-Lompnes sector.
A still very cold Saturday in Ain then a strong mild spell
Saturday morning will still be cold. He will do –11°C in Hauteville-Lompnes in the morning. Everywhere else, negative temperatures are forecast.
The mercury will be a little higher while remaining wintry, in the afternoon, with 0°C to 3°C maximum.
And redoux is announced for Saturday evening then Sunday. On January 5, the thermometer will rise sharply with temperatures reaching 11°C during the day. A mildness that will affect the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, according to Météo France.
