This Thursday, January 2, 2025, a candidate from Best pastry chef has definitively left the M6 gourmet competition, on the verge of the final. Here is who failed to score enough points to continue the adventure.
For two weeks, the candidates still in the running in The Best Pastry Chef on M6 face each other in the semi-finals. The objective is simple: obtain two points, or two tops, in an event, to advance to the final. This Thursday, January 2, 2025, there were four competing to bake on the theme “Holiday Spirit”: Timothée, the youngest of the season aged 16, Tsiory the Parisian who dreams of opening his tea room, Benjamin the dad solo who wants to show his son what he is capable of and José, the dean with a tender heart but a strong character.
The Best Pastry Chef 2024 : Timothée is the first candidate qualified for the final
For the creative test, the four participants had to reproduce a snow globe in XXL formatcontaining one of their most beautiful memories, in 3 hours. “We have to see through it”clarified the jury. Tsiory, who is the only one who did not get a Top last week, represented his trip to Lapland. “It’s a real professional snow globe, I have absolutely nothing to say”commented Cyril Lignac during the tasting, supported by Mercotte. Faced with such praise, it was obviously Tsiory who won this event. The technical test which followed was therefore decisive for the rest of the adventure since the pastry chefs were tied with one point each. Fabio Giambrone, head chocolatier, asked them to make a beautiful Christmas ball surrounded by a biscuit village. Timothée was the strongest and was therefore the first to qualify for the final. A victory that he celebrated by swimming in the pond at Ormesson Castle!
-The Best Pastry Chef 2024 : which candidate was eliminated at the gates of the season 13 finale?
To decide between the candidates using the surprise test, the jury decided to award two Tops in order to select the two pastry chefs who will join Timothée in the final. They had to make an edible Christmas wreath using at least one poaching technique. Tsiory, Benjamin and José could press a buzzer so that Cyril Lignac would come and help them for five minutes. After tasting, the jury decided that Benjamin's preparation was the least successful. He therefore leaves the competition at the gates of the final, but can congratulate himself on having bluffed Cyril Lignac and Mercotte, who started the show with a lot of preconceptions about the solo dad. Tsiory, José and Timothée will therefore compete next week for the grand final of the Best pastry chef !
