As of January 2, 2025, the overall assessment of dams highlights a notable improvement compared to the previous year, despite significant disparities between the different infrastructures.
With total reserves of 4.790,03 Mm³against 3.751,12 Mm³ in 2024, and an overall occupancy rate of 28,44%up compared to 23,27% from the previous year, the country is strengthening its water capacities. This assessment is, however, marked by variable performances between the dams, with some recording a notable increase while others are struggling to reach their full potential.
Three dams record the largest increases in reserves
The dam Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah has a normal capacity of 974,79 Mm³. Its reserves increased by 177,83 Mm³ to January 2, 2024 at 368,91 Mm³ as of January 2, 2025, i.e. a variation of 191,08 Mm³. The filling rate increased from 18,24% has 37,84% over the same period.
The dam Mansour Eddahbi has a normal capacity of 445,52 Mm³. Its reserves increased by 62,41 Mm³ to January 2, 2024 at 226,16 Mm³ as of January 2, 2025, recording an increase of 163,75 Mm³. The occupancy rate increased by 14,01% has 50,76%.
The dam Hassan Addakhil has a normal capacity of 312,79 Mm³. Its reserves increased by 84,22 Mm³ to January 2, 2024 at 225,61 Mm³ as of January 2, 2025, i.e. a variation of 141,39 Mm³. The filling rate increased from 26,93% has 72,13%.
