Rangers under investigation after shocking coin tossing incident at Ibrox

Rangers Club are set to face serious repercussions from the Scottish Football Association (SFA) following a deplorable incident at Ibrox, where Celtic player Arne Engels was punched in the face by a coin during a match.

Philippe Clement’s side were in the process of recording a resounding 3-0 victory over the league champions when Engels, who had been called in as a reinforcement, stepped up to take a corner near the end of the match. However, the match was abruptly interrupted when cameras captured the midfielder collapsing on the pitch after being hit by an object thrown from the stands.

Referee Don Robertson quickly intervened, showing signs of concern for Engels’ well-being. Fortunately, the player was able to continue. Robertson then retrieved the incriminating coin from the field and handed it to a police officer, who secured it in an evidence bag. This disturbing episode is now being investigated by law enforcement and the SFA, with expectations growing that Rangers will face disciplinary action as a result.

The disturbing scenes tarnished what should have been a celebratory moment for the Light Blue Army, who cut their deficit to 11 points at the top of the league standings.
