In just two years, the Formula Winter Series championship organized by Gedlich Racing has established itself as a sure bet for talents competing in Formula 4. With this third edition, the competition is a continuation of the success encountered so far. and once again offers a platform for aspiring pilots.
In 2025, for the first time, the championship will begin in Portugal. The tournament will kick off on the weekend of January 30 to February 2 at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão. Then, the meeting will take place in Spain with three meetings in Valencia (from February 13 to 16), then Aragón (February 27 to March 2) and finally Barcelona (from March 6 to 9).
In total, four events are on the program, each time three races of 30 minutes each. There will be up to 32 cars at the start.
The demand to participate in the Formula Winter Series is strong. Last October, the entry list was already full and teams found themselves put on the waiting list. On-track structures include well-established names like AKM Motorsport, US Racing and Jenzer Motorsport, while newcomers like Hitech GP and Van Amersfoort Racing are present. The list of participating drivers is still being finalized, but trends indicate that the field will be one of the most competitive in the history of this young championship.
The organization of the competition relies on a professional framework. It is supported by partners such as the distributor Pirelli-Reifenhändler QF-LDA, the fuel supplier Panta Fuel and the manufacturer Tatuus, which will be present on site with a support truck. The races will take place with Tatuus T-421s shod with Pirelli tires and meeting the standards of the European single-seater categories.
The Formula Winter Series championship offers young talents the opportunity to compete against each other in an international competition context. It is also one of the rare European winter competitions, offering teams an alternative program during the off-season. On site, the public can watch the races for free, while they are broadcast live and free via streaming.
Previous winners Kazper Sztuka and Griffin Peebles have since advanced their respective careers. The 2025 season will reveal their successor.
