She is Debrina Kawan, 57, from New Jersey, reports CNN. According to forensic doctors, the victim died from thermal injuries and smoke inhalation. The fact that she was described as homeless contributed to the slowness of her identification, police sources told our colleagues.

A suspect was able to be apprehended thanks to video surveillance images which were widely distributed. For an unknown reason, the man “calmly” walked towards the sleeping woman before setting her clothes on fire with what appeared to be a lighter.
