MeteoLux's first forecasts for the year 2025 are wintry to say the least. The national forecaster indicates that a cold front from Scandinavia will determine the weather over the next four days in Luxembourg, and thus predicts a return of snow to the country.
A white coat could indeed cover the landscape on Thursday January 2 in the morning. “In the morning, a layer of 2 cm is likely to form on the heights,” indicates MeteoLux in its bulletin. Precipitation may occur in the form of rain and snow mixed at dawn.
If this precipitation will clear quickly at the start of the day, the weather will become unstable during the afternoon. This instability will take the form of rain showers, sometimes mixed with snow or sleet until the evening.
2 to 4 centimeters of snow Sunday
In terms of temperatures, the minimums will be between -1 and 2 degrees this Thursday, January 2. The thermometer will plunge Friday January 3 and Saturday January 4 to reach -4 degrees in the north of the country.
A second snowy episode is predicted for Sunday January 5 by MeteoLux. This time, the layer could reach 2 to 4 centimeters.
Temperatures will then rise to reach 4 to 6 degrees Monday morning, and 7 to 9 degrees during the afternoon.
