announces excellent news to the Algerian team

Algeria
– Stade Malherbe announced this Sunday, December 29, 2024, the arrival of Bruno Baltazar as head coach, succeeding Nicolas Seube, sacked a few hours earlier. The departure of the latter is excellent news for the Algerian team

This news comes after a period of turbulence within the Norman club, which is now seeking to relaunch its dynamic under the leadership of the Portuguese technician. Bruno Baltazar, from Polish club Radomiak Radom, previously held assistant roles, notably alongside Sabri Lamouchi at Nottingham Forest between 2013 and 2015. He also enjoyed success as head coach, winning the championship of Cyprus with APOEL Nicosia in 2018.

The arrival of Baltazar represents a turning point for SM Caen, which expects new impetus from him to improve the team's performance. He will be on the field from Monday December 30 for the resumption of training in Venoix. His task will be to bring stability to a team which has shown signs of weakness under Seube's leadership, notably with unconvincing management of the goalkeeping position, a crucial area for the club.

This appointment is also of particular importance for the Algeria team, particularly with regard to SM Caen goalkeeper Anthony Mandrea. Indeed, Mandrea, who is the starting goalkeeper of the Algerian national team, had been put on the bench by the former coach, a decision which had raised questions among Algerian supporters. With the arrival of Bruno Baltazar, many observers are hoping for a review of this decision and a return of Mandrea to the starting lineup. The new coach, with his international experience, could offer the Algerian international a central place in his strategy, which would be excellent news for the player and for the Algerian national team.

The possible return of Mandrea to the starting role in Caen would be a positive signal for Algeria, less than a year from qualifying for the World Cup. Algerian fans are closely following developments in Caen, hoping that the change of coach will allow their favorite goalkeeper to return to his best level and become more involved in the success of his club and his selection.

Thus, the arrival of Bruno Baltazar at SM Caen could well mark a new chapter for Anthony Mandrea, and offer both the club and the Algerian national team a promising future.
