Milan, December 27. (Adnkronos Santé) – On X, a photo of a slender-looking Santa Claus is causing debate. Under this “mask” hides the entrepreneur Elon Musk, who shared this image with a succinct comment: “Ozempic Santa”. This term refers to anti-diabetic and anti-obesity drugs, which have attracted attention for several months and which promise significant weight loss for patients who benefit from them. This message sparked a wide exchange of opinions, with some calling for caution so as not to minimize serious issues such as the fight against obesity. Musk also clarified in a second post which molecule of the Glp-1 receptor agonists he specifically uses: “Technically, Mounjaro, but that sounds less good,” he wrote wryly, as CEO of Tesla and founder of SpaceX.
This is not the first time Musk has been associated with these treatments, as he was among the first VIPs to report on them. He also recently said, via X on December 11, that “nothing would improve the health, length and quality of life of Americans more than making these drugs super affordable.” He added that he was aware that “a lot of people will complain about this post, but he is right”.
These statements from the entrepreneur involved in the Trump administration to lead an effort at budget revision and efficiency, contrast with the position of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., chosen by President-elect Donald Trump as secretary of Health. According to Kennedy Jr., the answer to obesity in the United States, which now affects 40% of adults, lies primarily in a change in lifestyle.
