Headaches and body aches. No doubt, the flu has made a comeback in French families. A woman's 11-year-old daughter is bedridden and has all the symptoms. “Cold, persistent fever. She doesn’t move out of bed”she declares. Visits to SOS Médecins for flu-like illnesses increased by 51% last week.

All indicators are red in France. Over the past two weeks, a medical office has seen many flu patients. “If you have not yet caught the flu, it is not too late to get vaccinated. You can go until the end of December, or even the beginning of January”advises a general practitioner.

Hospitalizations are also on the rise due to the flu. An 82% increase in emergency room visits last week was recorded. Among patients, young children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to the epidemic.
