The control operations of the 6 establishments and drinking establishments in Seyne-sur-Mer are not directly linked to the news story which sowed terror in the town on December 21. They are part of a global strategy carried out jointly by the municipal and national police.

This is the 80th operation of this type launched since the start of the year. These night businesses regularly cause noise pollution, crowds and consumption of alcohol on public roads and the sale of alcohol to minors. We know very well that half of them are shady offlines.

The operation led the prefecture to close 2 establishments, following reports for illegal and concealed work and sales of products unfit for consumption.

The deputy delegate for security, Cheikh Mansour, confirms that other checks will take place, in the same way, in the coming weeks because this strategy follows numerous reports of disturbances by local residents throughout the year and particularly during the summer period. These businesses are located at the bottom of residential buildings.

We are currently working on the implementation of a decree which would require the closure of these establishments from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. You should know that a Var prefectural decree already prohibits the sale of alcohol after 10 p.m. Schedules and controls are our two levers because we cannot hinder the principle of freedom of trade.

Article 6 of the prefectural decree of March 22, 2022 indicates that “the sale of drinks is prohibited, under the take-away drinks regime, in all municipalities in the Var department from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.” .

Concerning the dramatic news item that occurred on December 26, theThe trail of an organized gang murder still seems favored after the discovery of two lifeless bodies in the back room of a grocery store located on rue Marceau in the city center, classified as a security priority. According to our colleagues from Matin, these were executions linked to the DZ Mafia, information not confirmed at this time by the public prosecutor's office.
