This Friday, December 27, 2024, at 4:45 a.m., firefighters were alerted to a major fire which broke out in a property located at 275 place called Les Landes, in the town of Saint-Lyphard (Loire). -Atlantic).
When emergency services arrived on the scene, they found that the extension of a main pavilion was completely engulfed in flames. This annex, with an area of 53 square meters, was part of a dwelling whose total surface area represented 250 square meters. Faced with the scale of the disaster, firefighters deployed two fire hoses to extinguish the flames.
17 firefighters engaged
A large-scale intervention was put in place, mobilizing a total of 17 firefighters from SDIS44 and requiring the deployment of six specialized vehicles, including:
Two ton pump vans, a large ladder, a command vehicle, as well as two support vehicles.
The Gendarmerie was also present on the scene to secure the perimeter and carry out usual observations.

Fortunately, despite the importance of the disaster, no casualties were reported. The occupants of the pavilion did not require rehousing, the main part of the house having probably been preserved.
The intervention ended around 7 a.m., allowing a gradual return of the resources involved.
Saint-Lyphard is a commune located in the west of the Loire-Atlantique department, 14.7 km as the crow flies west of Saint-Nazaire.
