Oleksandr Usyk won €85M against Fury but he wears a fake €100 Rolex

Amusing confession from the Ukrainian Usyk who admits to wearing a fake Rolex, even though he can afford the most beautiful versions of the Swiss brand.

It’s a confession as surprising as it is amusing coming from a boxer who hit the jackpot (and doubly so), in the boxing ring where he excels. While he has just pocketed a purse estimated at nearly 85 million euros for his second victory against the Englishman Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk mischievously revealed that he was wearing a counterfeit Rolex bought for 100 dollars on a Turkish beach.

In an interview with United24, the undefeated boxer (23 victories) did not hesitate to show off his watch in front of the camera before revealing its origin: “I was in Türkiye training when I saw Rolex sellers on the beach. I figured no one would guess it was fake. So I bought it for 100 dollars”he confided, laughing.

A fake watch that contrasts with Tyson Fury’s expensive models

This surprising confession contrasts sharply with the habits of the boxing world, and particularly with those of his rival Tyson Fury, known for his collection of luxury watches signed Jacob & Co and Rolex. Fury, who received around 70 million euros for this fight, like Usyk should see his earnings increase thanks to revenues from the pay-per-view broadcast on DAZN, Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

This anecdote reveals a little-known side of the Ukrainian champion, who clearly prefers humor and simplicity to the usual displays of wealth in the world of professional boxing.
