Jérémy Doku started this Thursday afternoon, during the English Boxing Day. The Belgian winger from Manchester City played a good game against Everton (1-1) but it was not enough to help his team take the three points.
The crisis continues at Man City. Deprived of Rúben Dias, Jack Grealish, Matheus Nunes, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Ederson, the Cityzens were unable to do better than a draw against the Toffees.
Not decisive
City had however opened the scoring through Bernardo Silva (14th) on an assist from Jérémy Doku. But as is often the case with the Cityzens this season, Everton managed to come back with their first shot on target of the match. With a nice sequence, Iliman NDiaye deceived Ortega (36th).
At the start of the second half, City won a penalty after Mykolenko fouled Savinho, but Pickford stopped Haaland’s shot.
De Bruyne’s rise hasn’t changed anything
Despite the entries of Kevin De Bruyne and İlkay Gündoğan late in the match, Pep Guardiola’s players did not manage to regain the advantage and provisionally occupy 6th place in the standings with 28 points. However, they could be overtaken by Aston Villa (28) or Newcastle (26). These two teams face each other this afternoon.
