From December 26th the adventures of Gi-hun return to the streaming platform.
The long wait is over: Squid Game 2 is finally available on Netflix.
The South Korean series that conquered the world with its gripping plot and deadly challenges returns with a new season, ready to capture viewers' attention. The second season consists of eight episodes.
Presented at Lucca Comics & Games 2024, the plot of Squid Game 2 was revealed very little before the release. Three years after winning the Squid Games, Seong Gi-hun is still obsessed with unmasking the organization behind the deadly games. With his fortune as an asset, he begins to investigate, starting with the enigmatic recruiter who was playing ddakji on the Seoul subway.
The road to the truth, however, turns out to be more dangerous than expected. To destroy the system, Gi-hun will have to play the games again, facing even deadlier challenges and trying to survive in an environment where trusting others could be his undoing. The green suits, the player numbers and the resolute face of Seong Gi-hun return, ready to infiltrate the heart of the organization to put an end to it once and for all.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk returns to direct, write and produce the series, delivering the same raw, incisive vision that defined the first season. Lee Jung-jae reprises his role as Seong Gi-hun, while Lee Byung-hun returns as the Front Man. Also returning are Wi Ha-jun, who plays Inspector Hwang Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo, the mysterious recruiter of the subway. Next to them, a parterre of new talents. Among the new names are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, already known in the world of Korean TV series, ready to give life to characters that promise to add new dimensions to the plot.
Squid Game 2 will not mark the end of the saga: the continuation of the story was filmed at the same time, which the public will be able to see in the third and final season scheduled for late 2025.
