The former F1 driver returns to racing in TCR Denmark after missing the 2024 season. He will be at the wheel of TPR Motorsport's third Honda
The last time Jan Magnussen started a season for TCR Denmark he took fourth place in the standings, recording two successes and seven other podium finishes, at the wheel of the Cupra.
Next year the four-time class winner of the 24h of Le Mans will make his return to his home touring car series at the wheel of TPR Motorsport's third Honda Civic which, well in advance of the start of next season, has already completed its line-up having also confirmed the use of Mike Halder and René Povlsen.
It is not yet clear whether the former F1 driver will be behind the wheel of the older version (FK7) or the more recent one (FL5), but he will certainly be dealing with a totally different car compared to the last one he drove.
“I'm really looking forward to returning to Danish motorsport and fighting for the title in TCR Denmark – declared Jan Magnussen -. I know it will be difficult, because I was away for a year, while everyone else raced, but I'm coming to win. I already know Mike. He's tough, but a clean fighter, so I'm looking forward to being on the team with him and René.”
“I am happy to be able to welcome a talented driver with a great personality like Jan Magnussen – stated TPR Motorsport Team Manager, Toni Persic -. I am convinced that Jan, together with Mike Halder and René Povlsen, will take the team even higher. We will give 100% in all three championships in TCR Denmark in 2025.”
“It's absolutely fantastic to have Jan back in TCR Denmark – commented the President of TCR Denmark, Bent Dyhre Hansen -. AND an incredibly talented rider and highly regarded by both opponents and motorsport fans around the world. I can't wait to see what he will be able to achieve together with TPR Motorsport.”
