Il CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicalirevealed a fundamental advice which he gave to Lewis Hamilton given his upcoming move to Ferrari. Hamilton played his last Grand Prix with the silver arrows this December 8thconcluding an extraordinary adventure with Mercedes.
A 39 years oldil seven times world champion he conquered six titles with Mercedesbuilding together with the team the most successful driver-team duo in the history of F1. In the 2025however, Hamilton will start a new chapter in his careeralongside Charles Leclerc in Ferrari. Domenicali revealed that the Briton is already preparing to adapt to the Italian culture, learning the language to better integrate.
“It will bring great interest” declared Domenicali. “He is learning to speak Italian and understand how to integrate into our culture. I told him that it is essential for him to be able to do this. At Ferrari he will find an environment different from what he is used to.”
Hamilton will be the Leclerc's third teammate in FerrariAfter Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz. The Monegasque driver has expressed his opinion several times enthusiasm at the idea of learning from a champion like Hamilton. Domenicali, that was Ferrari team principal before taking on the role of CEO of F1, he is confident that Hamilton will succeed push Ferrari towards new successes. He also expressed hope that the new driver duo manage to maintain the mutual respect throughout the season.
“Charles will have to accept the fact that having a partner like Lewis won't be easy. Lewis has the ability to convey his optimism and determination to reach new records. They respect each other a lot and I hope it will still be like this at the end of the year.” concluded Domenicali.
