Notre-Dame de Paris will celebrate its first Christmas Masses since the fire in 2019. These celebrations, scheduled for December 24 and 25, 2024, promise to attract large crowds under its majestic vaults. TheNotre-Dame Cathedral in Parisjust reopened after five years of work, is celebrating its first Christmas masses after the devastating fire in 2019.
For this first Christmas since the reopening, Notre Dame offers a program full of emotions. Tuesday 24 Decembermasses will be held at 4.00pm, 6.00pm and 8.00pmfollowed by one musical vigil from 11pm with the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, to immerse yourself in the mystery of the Holy Night. There Midnight massthe culminating moment of the vigil, will be celebrated at midnight by the Archbishop of Paris, Monsignor Laurent Ulrich. The following day, Wednesday 25 Decemberservices will be held at 8.30am, 11.00am and 6.00pmwith vespers at 17.15.
And remember that access to Masses is without reservation and limited to 2,700 places available. The diocese recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before start of the celebrations, taking into account the long queues. This Christmas marks the return of traditions, but it also requires a little patience.
In addition to the functions, a magnificent was installed in the cathedral Neapolitan nativity scene. Faithful to Neapolitan craftsmanship, it offers a vivid and detailed representation of the Nativity, adding a warm and traditional touch to the festive atmosphere.
