Here comes the video that demonstrates what Michael Schumacher has been up to in the past, a piece of history that has been talked about everywhere
Quote Michael Schumacher for any Formula 1 fan and in particular the Ferrari it's always a blow to the heart. In particular in remembering the triumphs and automotive qualities of the former German driver, capable of creating an incredible hegemony at the beginning of the 2000s driving the Red.
Unfortunately today everyone knows Schumi's clinical situation. From terrible accident which occurred during a family skiing session in the Meribel Alps in France, the German is forced to stay in his home and face daily therapies. Almost eleven years have passed since the Teutonic champion fell on a pile of rocks, hitting his head violently, risking the page and going through a period of delicate interventions and pharmacological coma.
The few who are allowed to visit Schumacher in the residence have implied that Michael is no longer the same, deeply scarred (physically and mentally) by the accident in question. But the drama does not at all erase the exploits of his past: precisely in this sense a video which recalls one of the Kaiser's very first efforts with the red Maranello car.
When Schumacher destroyed Berger's record in the Ferrari
The most attentive and long-lived enthusiasts will certainly remember that the beginning of the career of Michael Schumacher with the Ferrari it is dated 1996. But already a few months earlier, in the winter of '95 (exactly 29 years ago), the German had to deal with the Italian single-seater for the first time, immediately impressing his engineers.
After the end of the world championship he won in Benetton, Schumacher went on track for the first time with the Ferrari V12precisely the one led by Gerhard Berger in the season just ended. The Ferrari driver thought he had made excellent times in Estoril, where tests were taking place with a view to the future, but instead every record it was destroyed by Schumi's mastery at the wheel.
A video published on Youtube confirms how the German began setting record laps in Estoril, leaving everyone present speechless. Even though he had never driven it Ferrari V12it was like child's play.
The story of the Ferrari mechanics is the summary of that iconic day: “Michael had never driven that car. He had never done a lap time with the V12. It was a cold morning, we needed a lot to warm up the tyres. After half an hour Schumacher had improved Berger's time by 1.2 seconds. We looked at each other and we wanted to laugh.”
