The numbers of Venice and Cagliari
After losing the first match against Cagliari in Serie A on 6 November 1966, Venezia remained unbeaten in the next seven matches against the Sardinians in the tournament (3W, 4D): record streak without defeat for the lagoon players against a single opponent in the tournament. The Cagliari is the team against which Venezia has played the most home games without ever losing in Serie A: two wins and two draws in four home matches. The Venezia has drawn the last two matches of the championship against Como and Juventus, the lagoon players have not recorded at least three consecutive draws in Serie A since the period between March and April 1962 (four in that case). The Venezia both scored and conceded exactly the same goals after 16 matches of the season compared to the previous championship Serie A (15 goals and 29 goals conceded, as in 2021/22), however earning five points less (10 in 2024/25 compared to 15 in 2021/22). Il Cagliari have won only one of their last eight matches championship (2D, 5L): 1-0 against Hellas Verona on 29 November, losing both of the most recent games without scoring.
Il Cagliari have remained unbeaten in nine of their last 11 matches against newly promoted teams in Serie A (W3, D6), winning the most recent one (3-2 against Parma last September 30th).
