Fanta, the goalkeepers for matchday 17: who to field? The advice

The penultimate round of Serie A of 2024 is arriving and begins with the match between Verona and Milan scheduled for Friday at 8.45pm. There is little time available to resolve training doubts, so rely on ours fantasy advice on goalkeepers on matchday 17.

Match by match we analyze what, in our opinion, the performance of each goalkeeper could be and, basically, we list them all, dividing them into three categories: to be deployed, risky and to avoid. Obviously you know well which category to prefer.

A match that on paper sees Milan as the favourites, so Maignan would seem reliable. However, Verona recovered by going on to a surprise win in Parma, while the Rossoneri practically always concede goals away from friendly walls. The French goalkeeper can still line up but without the certainty of a clean sheet. Better to stay away, however, from Montipò.

The Granata finally returned to victory after four defeats and two draws, while the Bolognese are in excellent form, sealed by the victory over Fiorentina. It can be a match in which both teams can score: both goalkeepers can take risks because they are having a good championship, especially the Granata one.

We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for the rossoblù: in the championship with Vieira they have not yet lost and are coming off two consecutive clean sheets thanks to 0-0 draws against Torino and Milan, while from a corporate point of view a new team has finally arrived president. However, against Napoli they start as the underdogs: we avoid Leali, we field Meret.

The situation is similar to Verona-Milan, with Lazio however coming off the incredible 6-0 defeat against Inter, while Lecce with Giampaolo seems to have taken the path to salvation. With Provedel there is no certainty of being unbeaten, but he can line up, while Falcone has a rest period, despite his consistently positive performances.

Roma are incredibly only two points above the third from last position so Sunday's match will be a real survival battle. Svilar is in excellent form, and if the Giallorossi were about to take home a point in the match against Como it was only because of his prodigious saves: we confirm it. Suzuki should be avoided, as he also conceded three goals from Verona.

Safety challenge in which both goalkeepers can take risks: it is not impossible that the two teams can settle for a 0-0 draw in order to move the table. For this reason both Sherri and Stankovic could be good risks.

The Bergamo team are coming off ten consecutive victories and show no signs of slowing down because when they play badly, like in Cagliari, Carnesecchi takes care of saving the result with prodigious saves. For the goalkeeper who grew up in the Nerazzurri youth team, confirmation arrives among the available players, while we avoid Vasquez, who conceded goals from midfield in the last round, after a series of excellent performances.

Juventus' defense is starting to leak on all sides: after being the best of the tournament, they conceded four goals in the last two home rounds against Bologna and Venice. Di Gregorio is no longer a security as he could have been initially but against a sterile and struggling Monza he must be deployed: let's leave Turati out instead.

The Viola, after eight consecutive victories, fell in Bologna and will immediately want to return to victory. De Gea is aiming for his second consecutive unbeaten run at home after the 1-0 against Cagliari two weeks ago while for Sava, who took over from Okoye until the end of the season, it won't be a good evening.

The Italian Champions are back in steamroller mode after the astonishing 6-0 at the Olimpico with which they annihilated Lazio. There shouldn't be any problems in the match against Como, with Sommer who could bring home another clean sheet (net of the usual defensive sleep at the end of the match). Absolutely avoid Reina (or Audero, if the ex of the moment plays).
