Will the Friedkins be able to get rid of Dybala? It seems so, at Galatasaray

It’s the theme of Christmas, at least in Rome. The Friedkins want to get rid of Dybala and Paulo, it seems, would leave peacefully. Turkey is not Saudi Arabia, you can go and live there. Istanbul is a beautiful city.

Corriere dello Sport writes:

It’s a sequel, it’s the second season of a series: from August to December, from Saudi Arabia to Turkey, Paulo Dybala’s saga in Roma is enriched with a new story full of suspense. Agent Carlos Novel was photographed on Monday evening in the Galatasaray presidential box at the Ali Sami Yen stadium in Istanbul during the 4-3 win against Trabzonspor. Yesterday morning the rumours, confirmed by the Gala managers and then also by Trigoria, speak of an ongoing negotiation for a two and a half year contract (expiring 2027) worth around 25 million net overall: 5 until June, plus 10 for the entire seasons that Dybala would play in Türkiye. It is clear that Galatasaray first wants to settle the agreement with the player and then negotiate with Roma, who are in a hurry to sell the strongest player in the squad to avoid the contractual renewal clause being triggered (roughly within the next month): 8 million net. It is a sum that the Friedkins had allocated in 2022, when they reasonably thought of establishing themselves in the Super Champions League, but which today is unbearable for Roma’s budget, even more so in view of a year without European cups.

It all depends on Dybala

Apparently, Friedkin is not willing to give away the card. He asks for a small compensation, which would produce a valuable capital gain, estimated at 3-4 million. Slightly less than what the Arabs of Al-Shabab would have put on the table four months ago. But the feeling is that the agreement between the clubs is the least of the problems. It all depends on Paulo, who has scored only 2 goals this season and in general has performed poorly throughout 2024. Among other things, from January 1st to 15th Dybala will be able to free himself thanks to the 12 million release clause.
