Anker 737: the best compact external battery?
The Anker 737 140W battery offers a capacity of 24,000 mAh/86.4Wh, all in a fairly compact format (15.58 x 5.46 x 4.96 cm, for 627 grams on our scale). It is supplied with a carrying bag and a short (59 cm) certified 140W cable. The battery has two USB-C ports (one of which also works as an input, accepting up to 140W) and a USB-A port delivering 18W max (the total power of 140W will be distributed according to the ports used).
The USB-C input/output supports the Power Delivery 3.1 standard with a power of 140W, and therefore allows fast charging of iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook Air and MacBook Proincluding the 16-inch model (but you will then have to use the USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable).
2 ports USB-C, un port USB-A, 140W
The battery has a convenient color screen (which automatically displays in the right direction depending on the orientation of the battery) to view the input and output power of the three ports in real time, as well as the time remaining before the battery runs out of charge. As an example, The Anker 737 Power Bank allowed us to recover 56% battery on a 16-inch MacBook Pro M1 Pro in exactly 30 minutes, and 23% remained in the external battery. Leaving the battery plugged in until it runs out gets 70% battery on the same machine in 46 minutes.
We were able to fully recharge the battery with the Apple and Anker 140W chargers in exactly 42 minutes. Anker guarantees safe operation thanks to in-house ActiveShield 2.0 technology and the capacity allows iPhone and iPad to be recharged several times before it throws in the towel. I have been looking for a long time for the perfect battery for my use. This model ticks all the boxes and has been with me happily since its release.
