Congolese international footballer Meschack Elia spoke out on social media following the death of his 4-year-old son, Ethan.
Meschack Elia is in mourning. The Congolese international footballer from Young Boys of Berne paid tribute to his son Ethan, who died suddenly at the age of 4. “It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. (…) An immense pain invades us, his mother Sandra, my family and me”, published the player, Monday December 16.
“We would also like, with these few words, to thank from the bottom of our hearts all the people who have shown us their support and compassion at this difficult time. (…) The love and affection shown to our family in this painful ordeal, your messages, your calls, your prayers, touch us deeply,” Meschack Elia also wrote.
“Inexhaustible source of love and joy”, Ethan lost his life in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A press release from the Swiss club revealed that the child had died “totally unexpectedly after a short illness”.
