The Roma-Parma report cards don't leave too much room for the imagination: a bad performance for Pecchia's team who return from the Olimpico with a very heavy 5-0 (Click here).
It's difficult to find a pass, apart from Hernani who appears among the last to give up. Here are the Sportparma report cards.
SUZUKI 5 Saelemaekers makes a nice technical gesture, but his opposition at the near post is lacking: he goes to the ground backwards and does not cover the near post, trying to oppose with his foot. A photograph that demonstrates the technical shortcomings of the Japanese goalkeeper, who was not to blame for the other goals. On penalties you always choose the wrong side.
COULIBALY 5 Given as a starter (given the non-renewal), lined up by surprise: Angelino is a thorn in the side from start to finish. The benches seem to have made him lose his lustre. Turin's performance against Juventus, when he had wrapped up Conceiçao, will remain a memory.
BALOGH 4.5 It starts very badly: ready-go, he commits an imprudent penalty foul on Dybala, which will pave the way for the Giallorossi. A dull performance which confirms that the Hungarian has not recovered from the mistakes of a week ago against Hellas.
DLEPRATO 5,5 He is probably the least worst of the rearguard, but even the captain today was powerless in the face of the ravenous Lupacchiotti. He gives up due to a physical problem: hopefully it's not serious.
(9’ st) Valenti 5,5 The only positive thing is that she puts more minutes into her legs: this is only her second appearance, she will have to recover her shine from the next one, because behind the blanket she is very short.
VALERI 5 His closure is missing on Saelemaekers' 2-0. He becomes favorite in the offensive phase with an insidious shot, from long range, which ends high. He leaves due to physical problems, leaving the left defenseless… Meanwhile, Di Chiara was at home.
(13’ st) Benedyczak 5 He comes in when the horses have bolted and it's not clear what role he should have had in a match that had already been archived.
HERNANI 6 He is the only 30-year-old on the pitch among the Crociati and is the first to charge after the Giallorossi's one-two: his right-footed shot from long range forces Svilar to make a save. He fights, runs and never gives up. In the disastrous final, he carries the team on his shoulders and positions himself as a central defender to give more tranquility to a completely improvised defense.
SOHM 5.5 A nice pass that sends Bonny through on goal at the start of the match, a bit of filter while he has it and little else.
MAN 4,5 Invisible, out of context and held back by the Giallorossi defense for the entire 89 minutes. He woke up in the 90th minute with a nice shot that would have sent the ball into the hole, if it weren't for the excellent Svilar.
HAJ MOHAMED 5.5 Difficult to shine in the collective darkness. It is even more so if you are only 19 years old and you find yourself playing your second match in Serie A, at the Olimpico in Rome. His dedication is appreciable even when he is moved to the defensive midfield.
(1’ st) Camara 5,5 One of his dead-leaf shots hits the top of the crossbar.
ALMQVIST 5 The surprise card drawn from the deck by Pecchia is not a winner. The Swede is mostly noticed, not only for his blonde hair, but also for a yellow card foul at the start of the second half. Pecchia takes it away immediately
(9’ st) Chancellors 5 First left back, then striker. A bit of everything and a bit of nothing.
BONNY 5 His the first ring of the match, but he lacks precision in front of Svilar. The only offensive point of his match coincides with a sliding doors episode: if he had scored, who knows what kind of match we would have witnessed.
(25’ st) Michael 5 Pecchia makes him play left back. Not his comfort zone: in fact, the mistake is immediate: he overwhelms Saelemaekers and commits a penalty foul.
All. PECCHIA 4.5 He doesn't give up on the dogma of 4-2-3-1, not even in the face of the evidence of injuries that force him to reinvent two defensive quarters. He adapts his players (Cancellieri, Mihaila, Hernani) into unusual positions, forcing them to make big mistakes. It's true that injuries are taking away many precious players from him, but there is a way and a way to face great teams and great coaches.
