– D-Day for the Christmas bonus, are you eligible?
The Christmas bonus payment date is Tuesday December 17. This little financial boost distributed by the State is aimed at French people receiving minimum social benefits. Its amount is fixed and varies depending on the composition of the household. Bad news for the 2.3 million French people who experience it each year. In 2024, the amount remains the same as last year. The exceptional end-of-year bonus known as the Christmas bonus will be 152.45 euros for single people, plus 50% when the household is made up of two people, whether a spouse or a child, and another 30% per additional child, relays BFMTV.
In detail, only beneficiaries of the active solidarity income, the specific solidarity allowance, the retirement equivalent allowance and the fixed bonus for resumption of activity or remuneration for Pôle emploi training are eligible. It is necessary to have received at least one of these social minimums in November or December 2024.
Christmas bonus: bad news for single-parent families
A variable amount depending on the number of dependent children
For RSA recipients, the premium increases depending on the number of dependent children. For a couple without children, the amount is 228.68 euros (152.45 euros for a single person); 274.41 euros for a couple with a child (308.72 euros for a single parent); 320.15 euros for two dependent children (370.45 for a single parent) and 381.13 euros for three dependent children (452.78 euros for a single parent).
For other social minimum beneficiaries, the amount is 152.45 euros, possibly increased depending on the number of dependent children. But to do this, you must make a request to France Travail. The Christmas bonus is paid automatically by CAF and MSA into the beneficiary’s bank account. However, you must first check that your personal information (address, family situation and bank details) is up to date.
