As a preamble to the session of municipal council of Flers (Orne), on Monday December 16, 2024, the elected officials wanted to pay tribute to the little Manelle« child of Flers, full of life, dreams and promise” died as a result of her injuries during an accident on Thursday, December 12 during a school trip to Flers.
It is Lori Helloco1st deputy, who officiated, in the absence of Yves Goasdoué, absent for health reasons.
Unspeakable pain
“This tragedy has shaken our entire city, and well beyond, plunging each of us into a unspeakable pain », expressed Lori Helloco. “It will belong to thejudicial authority alone to shed light on the exact circumstances of the accident and the death of Manelle. It is not our place to comment or anticipate this. »
Today, our most sincere thoughts and our deepest support go to his family who are facing an ordeal that no one could imagine in their place.
Before continuing: “I would like, in the name of Flers and your name, to greet their dignity and their courage in this very difficult moment. Manelle will remain in the hearts of those who knew her as a joyful, curious and bright little girl whose smile and presence will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her. »
An immeasurable drama
“As a sign of solidarity and respect, the city of Flers took the initiative of offering Manelle’s family the responsibility of paying for the funeral. This gesture, although modest, translates our collective desire to support themin their mourning and to show them that in this ordeal, they are not alone. »
The loss of a child is an immeasurable tragedy and this tragedy reminds us of the importance of humanism, mutual support and the love that we must have for each other.

Rapid support for state services
“I thank those who provided the FIRST AID but also firefighters, hospital caregivers, national and municipal police officers and services of the city of Flers for their total dedication and sense of public service.
I also thank National Education and the services of the Flers hospital for having taken care of them quickly due to the psychological consequences both on our students and on adults, parents and carers.
Finally, I want to thank the State services and the sub-prefect who were able to react quickly to accurately coordinate the intervention chainservices to the public. »
