Household waste collection arrangements change January 1, 2025 in the Country of Vitré (Ille-et-Vilaine).
In the month of October, the Joint Union for the collection and sorting of household waste (Smictom) South East 35 had in fact announced a change in collection days on the 67 municipalities covered. Which still represents a trifle of 42,000 households affected through door-to-door collection (60,000 in 2017).
A difference between town and country homes
The Smictom website allows all of these households to find out about collection days. In Torcé, for example, they will take place every Friday, both for gray bins and yellow bags. For Saint-M'Hervé, it will be Monday.
The largest municipalities are differentiated by a “town” or “village” precision. “The hypercenter of Vitré will be collected on the same day as the town,” specifies Smictom.
This development comes within a logic of limitations on the distances traveled by Smictom agents, and of rationalization.
