this powerful laptop with two screens loses €700 of its price

With its two screens directly integrated into its chassis, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is designed for creators, creatives and those who are simply looking to optimize their productivity. Such a configuration implies a high price, but at the moment the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is not sold at 1,999.99 euros as usual, but at 1,299.99 euros at Carrefour.

Launched in 2022, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED not only features a beautiful 14.5-inch OLED panel. It also includes a second screen, just above the keyboard, with a 12.7-inch LCD panel. Suffice to say that creative people who cannot do without a second screen, but who do not want to bother with an external monitor, will be served. The good news of the day is that it is less expensive than usual since it benefits from a reduction of 700 euros.

Two eye-catching screens

The Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED is a laptop with very neat lines, with a robust and above all premium metal chassis. This same chassis has rather extensive connectivity, with an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, a USB A 3.2 Gen 2 port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, it is by opening this Zenbook Pro that we will be able to admire its main asset: its two-screen configuration. The main panel rises naturally while the second automatically positions itself at a comfortable viewing angle. A bit futuristic, but really pleasant to look at. To say more about these two screens, the main touchscreen panel is a 14.5-inch OLED with 2.8K definition, or 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, and it benefits from an excellent refresh rate of 120 Hz. Creatives will be reassured to see that it covers 120.4% of the DCI-P3 volume, guaranteeing a very wide color palette, as well as 169.9 % of sRGB volume and 117.1% of Adobe RGB volume.

The second screen also defends itself very well with its 12.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a definition of 2,880 x 864 pixels. It also covers many volumes (109.9% of DCI-P3, for example), but has a poorer calibration than its big brother. But remember that it was mainly designed to be a shortcut screen or a simple additional screen to display some information. For example, you can export a library of Premiere videos while you manage its editing on the main screen.

A good configuration inside

To support creatives, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED also has a very good configuration which will help them perform several graphics tasks simultaneously with great fluidity and launch heavy software. First of all, we are treated to an Intel Core i5-13500H processor, clocked at 3.5 GHz (boost up to 4.7 GHz) and supported by 16 GB of RAM, to manage this multitasking. For this 13th generation, Intel has also promised a performance gain of 15% in mono thread and up to 41% in multithread, an increase in performance of 24% in video games. Gamers will be able to benefit from an RTX 4050, which certainly represents the entry-level of the 4000 series, but which can certainly launch recent AAA titles in 1080p, even if its 6 GB VRAM is a little limited. We still benefit from Nvidia technologies such as ray-tracing and DLSS 3.

In terms of cooling and heat management, the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED works wonders. In normal mode, it barely makes a sound and never exceeds 50°C, without really sacrificing its power what’s more. With performance mode, the sound of the fans pushed to full blast is really not disturbing. Finally, in terms of autonomy, the laptop contains a 76 Wh battery, which, with such a configuration and such a dual screen, does not allow it to be very durable. During our test, the laptop lasted no more than 7 hours, and without even activating the second screen. But for a day’s work, it’s OK, fortunately.
