This year, the competition is open to Canadian youth productions including original language is Englishand which were broadcast in Canada between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024. Finally, 3 new prices have also been added to further celebrate the youth media industry.

In total, up to 22 Prix d’excellence will be delivered next May. The categories of the English Excellence Awards are as follows:

Best Program, Live Action Scripted  
– Preschool 3-5,
– Ages 6-9 and
– Ages 9+

Best Program, Live Action Non-Scripted 
– Preschool 3-5,
– Ages 6-9 and
– Ages 9+

Best Program, Animation 
– Preschool 3-5,
– Ages 6-9 and
– Ages 9+

Best Short Form Content 
– Preschool 3-5,
– Ages 6-9 and
– Ages 9+

All Ages 
– Best Podcast
– Best Gaming or Interactive Experience
– Best Feature Film
– Best One-Off Special
– Best Host(s) or On-Air Personality of the year

The AMJ will also provide5 Special Prices (Special Prizes) during the evening:
– Outstanding Youth Performer (Talent Award 18 years old and under)
– Outstanding Youth Ensemble (Talent Award 18 years old and under)
– Outstanding Achievement (*selected by committee)
– Emerging Talent (*selected by committee)
– Grand Prize

Rules and conditions

The deadline to receive registrations for the awards of excellence is the February 92025 at 6 p.m. (Eastern Time).
The awards ceremony will be held at the Glenn Gould Studiothe 28th of 2025hasToronto. The English-speaking Excellence Awards are made possible thanks to the support ofCBC Kids, Canada Media Fund, APTN, Knowledge Network, Sinking Ship Entertainment,and other loyal partners.
