Quintuple murder in the North: the suspect had resentment towards his first victim, his former employer

Last Saturday in the afternoon, a 22-year-old man four people shot dead at Loon-Plage and another one has Wormhout in the north of France. The victims are a business manager, two security guards and two migrants of Iranian origin. The man, a truck driver, was handed over to the police shortly after the murders.

Placed in police custody, his lawyer Véronique Planckeel declared that he “spontaneously admitted the facts and was very composed, very calm” during his interrogation.

Known victims

Even if the motive remains unknown, his lawyer affirmed that the man knew his first victim, his former employer, a 29-year-old business manager of a road transport company killed around 3:15 p.m. in front of his home in Wormhout.

“We do not know how the employment contract was terminated,” she adds.

Véronique Planckeel indicates that he “knew one by sight” about the two security agents killed just after his former employer. Concerning the two migrants, there is currently no information on their possible acquaintance.

Unknown to the police

Charlotte Huet, Dunkirk prosecutor, confirmed that he is “unknown to the police and the judicial authority” and that “several firearms were found in his car”.

The investigation is open for “murders preceded, accompanied or followed by another crime” and “acquisition, possession, carrying and transport of category A and B weapons”. These acts are punishable by life imprisonment.
