“This is a large-scale, structuring project for Mazamet and the entire southern Tarn region.” Olivier Fabre, the mayor of Mazamet, is, to say the least, enthusiastic about the idea of ​​seeing a new type of health center set up in his town which aims to “transform the French health system” according to the spokesperson. project, Lionel Tirefort.

It is on a plot of land of 7,000 m2 sold by the city located in front of the Molière park overlooking the Chevalière roundabout visible from the main axis of Mazamet, that the president of the Isom group wants to build three buildings of 4,000 m2 in total to establish an innovative institute based on “a health ecosystem” by bringing together private, public and associative actors around three themes: human, plant and animal.

Consulting offices, accommodation, conviviality space…

The objective is to bring together multidisciplinary and independent healthcare players in a single location. General practitioners, specialists, radiologists, biologists, dentists, opticians, veterinarians, etc. will be able to find consultation offices adapted to their sector of activity, a coworking space, a concierge service, meeting rooms. seminars but also a “bistro” type convivial space which will facilitate links between practitioners. Accommodation will also be offered for more or less long periods, particularly for students. A permaculture space is also planned. “This innovative approach aims to create spaces where patients and caregivers can find real quality exchanges and care.”

Health professionals will be able to buy or rent premises for long or short periods. “We adapt to the wishes of the interlocutor” explains Lionel Tirefort who will provide personalized support in his project of establishment and development of activities, stronger visibility and pooling of technical resources and purchases. The Isom Santé network aims to “strengthen collaboration and solidarity between liberal professionals, while promoting economic sovereignty”.

An estimated cost of 10 million euros

“It’s a project of professionals for professionals,” continues Lionel Tirefort who has already created similar institutes in Aquitaine where he has spent his entire career. And it is no coincidence that this trained nurse, who then held executive and then management positions in the private hospital sector, chose Mazamet as his first location in Occitanie. The 38-year-old founder of the Isom group is in fact from this Tarn town. “I thank the elected officials for their trust. Without trust it is not possible to work on such a project, an entrepreneurial challenge for which audacity and energy are required” assures the project leader who is banking on a opening in early 2027. A public meeting is organized on February 6 at the Palais des Congrès, the building permit should be filed in March, the launch of marketing is planned for April with work starting at the end of 2025-beginning of 2026 for a duration of 14 months. The cost of the project is estimated at 10 million euros.

Good news in the context of medical desertification. “This responds to the demands of residents, in addition to what already exists. The fight for health is played out on several fronts. It is a private project of public interest,” concludes Olivier Fabre.
