Triple dose of Julien at the top of the Top Albums this week! Through a strange curiosity and an alignment of the planets, three French artists with the same first name in their civil status share the first three places on the podium. And it's Julien Schwarzer, aka SCH, who takes the advantage: the latest opus of his bloody saga “JVLIVS III: Ad Finem” takes pole position with a solid score of 48,300 sales in seven days, i.e. the best rap start of the year 2024! And the artist made a kimono for his friend Julien Mari, aka Jul, in what was a real clash of the titans. His sidekick must be content with the silver medal with “Unstoppable”, which sold 44,900 copies. Both came very close to a gold record in the first week. On the third step therefore, Julien Doré takes advantage of Christmas shopping to go up two notches with “Imposteur”: 12,900 curious people liked his rereadings of “All the women in your life” or “The demons of midnight”. An increase of 19%. It also climbs for Indochina : the group moves from 16th to 4th position thanks to the release of a collector's box around “Babel Babel” including in particular the live “Babel Show” broadcast on TMC. The box set attracted 12,400 fans for a boost of 109%!

Kendji Girac comes back, Rosé seduces

Number one last week, Gazo fell to fifth place with his new album “Apocalypse”, which slowed down very sharply to reach 11,400 units (-71%). On the other hand, the soundtrack of the “Arcane” series, supported by the hit “Ma Meilleure Enneme” by Stromae and Apple, which is a hit around the world, climbs two floors with nearly 10,500 sales recorded (+7%). While he has just announced his return to the stage at the age of 82, Eddy Mitchell lost four places with “Amigos”, now seventh with 9,100 copies sold (-28%). Pierre Garnier goes down a level with the reissue of his first album “Every second”, which records 9,000 additional sales for a total which officially exceeds the threshold of 150,000 purchases recorded in six months. Moving back three ranks, Linkin Park is ninth with “From Zero”: the comeback album of the American band attracts 8,900 rockers at heart (-10%).

It is therefore in 10th position that we find the album of the 2024 class of the “Star Academy”! A little over 6,800 aficionados listened to the covers of Emma, Marguerite, Charles and Franck. A more than honorable score because for comparison, the 2023 album with Pierre, Djebril, Axel or Helena also entered 10th but with 6,600 receipts. In the rest of the Top Albums, Kendji Girac moves from 28th to 12th position with the reissue of “Vivre…”, which captivated 6,700 acoustic guitar lovers (+68%). In full success of his duet “APT.” with Bruno Mars, Rosé arrives on the 16th step with her solo album “Rosie”: 5,900 curious people were tempted. So, the BLACKPINK star does better than Johnny Hallyday ! Le taulier enters the 19th with “The concert event at the Eiffel Tower 2011” and 5,100 nostalgic spectators.

For Dinos, the news is a little less good: the rapper plummets from 2nd to 26th notch with “Kintsugi”, which falls below the 4,000 sales equivalent mark (-79%). Buoyed by its thunderous entry to the top, SCH is also back in the Top with the two previous opuses of its musical saga. “JVLIVS” went from 141st to 40th position with 3,000 fans there (+164%) while its sequel, “JVLIVS II”, regained 116 places at once thanks to 2,900 mafiosi (+171%). Note, finally, that the J-pop group TWICE lands 53rd with “Strategy” and nearly 2,500 sales recorded.
