Second edition of the Yves Journel University Prize for innovation in favor of old age

Convinced of the force of change and innovation that are the younger generations and of the central role of our elders in the transmission of knowledge and the maintenance of essential benchmarks of our society, the DomusVi Foundation reaffirms its commitment to create strong links between generations and support young talents committed to aging well.

Encourage university research on old age and the intergenerational link
In partnership with the Chair in Demographic Transitions, Economic Transitions (TDTE), the 2024 jury rewarded:
Anton Paumellebest thesis category: “The aging of the population, a renewal for French rural towns? » supported at EHESS.

Marie Cerejobest dissertation category “Supporting aging people with an intellectual disability during their retirement as a worker in a specialized establishment”, supported at the Leonardo de Vinci Institute.

Clemence Quibelfavorite category: “Caregivers of elderly people residing in EHPADs. Influence of the caregiver's journey on their experience and their involvement”, supported at the University of Burgundy.

This ceremony was an opportunity to recall certain crucial aspects of supporting aging and in particular the essential role of caregivers who work every day for the well-being of our elders.

« Taking into account the experience acquired by caregivers, their intimate knowledge of the person and their history, is essential to guarantee truly adapted and respectful support. », underlines Clémence Quibel, winner of the jury’s favorite prize.

Supporting innovation and young start-ups in favor of aging well
As part of this second edition, the Foundation is launching its Innovation Prize this year to support young startups in the tech ecosystem and innovative initiatives serving healthy aging for older people and intergenerational links.

After receiving four pre-selected startups during the “Pitch your startup” event, the jury, made up of senior professionals and members of the DomusVi Foundation, awarded the innovation – startup prize to Arbitryum.

A social and solidarity economy company which redefines the standards of the elderly sector and strengthens the place of seniors by proposing a new method of measuring and evaluating the quality of life in nursing homes, under construction with residents, their families and caregivers.

« This award is a huge recognition of the work we do with Arbitryum.

It highlights issues that are often invisible, such as the right to choose or the well-being of the elderly, and shows that they deserve collective attention.

We have a role to play in transforming their living spaces into spaces where everyone can fully flourish. » explains Sabrina Albayrak, co-founder of Arbitryum.
