Christine Lanier-Beck is a young retiree living in La Grande-Motte since 2019, a town she has known since her childhood, her parents having had a vacation home in the city of the Pyramides. A busy life, dance and English teacher, mother of three children to whom she devoted fifteen years of her life and then retraining as a psychologist, a role that she continues to exercise on a voluntary basis.
But Christine's great passion and guilty pleasure have always been writing and more particularly poetry. “I am very literary and artistic at heart. Thanks to dance, poetry for me is as if I had inscribed in my body the rhythm and music of the words “, she explains.
“Anna only spoke in Alexandrian “
In October, Christine registered for the “Terre de Camargue” short story competition; the authors had to create a text based on Giraudoux’s sentence: “She doesn't say anything, she doesn't do anything but she's there “. “My short story was about Anna who only spoke in Alexandrian, which shocked and even worried her parents.“
Christine, thanks to her prose, won first prize, “for my first competition, I was very proud, especially since next year, I will be part of the jury”, she humbly admits.
But what characterizes Christine's writing is poetry, as she says with a little smile: poetry is not fashionable.” Nevertheless, she continues her poetic path, words that intertwine throughout the pages . His sixth collection of poems entitled The little poetry seller is lighter than the previous ones with personal photos and the sensations that Christine feels through the books she loves.
