Russian advance near Pokrovsk
On the ground, the most intense fighting still took place around the town of Pokrovsk, where the Russians claimed the capture of two villages in the morning.

Russian drones destroyed
Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 56 of 108 drones launched by Russia during an attack overnight from Saturday to Sunday, the Ukrainian Air Force announced.
According to the Air Force statement, another 49 drones were “lost,” likely due to electronic jamming.
An oil train hit in the Zaporizhia region,
Ukrainian special forces and intelligence services also claimed responsibility this Sunday for the destruction of a train transporting petroleum products in the Zaporizhia region.
As noted The Kyiv Independant this operation comes as Ukraine strengthens its defenses in the sector, in anticipation of a potential attack by the Russians.
Russian tanker sinks near Crimean bridge
A Russian ship carrying thousands of tons of oil products broke in two on Sunday due to a strong storm, spilling oil into the Kerch Strait, while another Russian tanker was also in distress after suffering damage, Russian officials cited by the agency said Reuters. This strait is located between Russia and Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014.
