In a Guinea undergoing digital transformation, the ANSUTEN Grand Prix de la Tech et de l’Innovation stands out as a flagship event for the promotion of innovation and technological entrepreneurship. Organized by the National Agency for Universal Telecommunications and Digital Service (ANSUTEN), under the supervision of Mrs. Rose Pola Pricemou, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, this event is much more than a competition: a true declaration of intent to support Guinean youth in new information and communication technologies (NICT).
A Visionary Concept, Pillar of the Simandou 2040 Strategy
The ANSUTEN Grand Prix is part of the five strategic axes of the Simandou 2040 project, initiated to position Guinea as a key player in the digital economy. With 139 applications from across the country, this event aims to identify, support and promote innovative projects in key sectors such as agriculture, health, education and many other areas essential to national development.
The final of this first edition, held on December 11, 2024, brought together government authorities, representatives of international organizations, entrepreneurs and promising young talents. Three categories were highlighted: Research and Innovations, Start-upet Young Entrepreneur.
Through this initiative, the Guinean government affirms its ambition to create an ecosystem favorable to the emergence of innovative ideas, while emphasizing digital inclusion for all social strata, from rural areas to urban centers.
The Inspiring Leadership of Madame Rose Pola Pricemou
Under the leadership of Mrs. Rose Pola Pricemou, the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy stands out for its leadership resolutely oriented towards action. The Minister, convinced of the immense potential of Guinean youth, makes innovation and technological entrepreneurship an absolute priority.
During the awards ceremony, she recalled her ministry’s commitment to finalizing the construction of several digital hubs in various prefectures, thus reaffirming the government’s desire to allow every citizen to benefit from the opportunities offered by digital technology. . “The talent is there, and the government is now putting structures in place to support these young companies and start-ups who believe in themselves and in whom we also believe”she emphasized fervently.
Winners who embody Excellence and Innovation
The final featured ten exceptional projects which demonstrate the ingenuity and dynamism of young Guineans. Among them:
- François Gonothi Touré (Research and Innovations): Winner for its waste recovery project, a promising initiative for sustainable development.
- Lance Keita (Start-up): His project “Zaly Merveille” won him first prize and an endowment of 200 million GNF.
- Almamy Fodé Sylla (Young Entrepreneur): His project “Findaara” won over the jury, making him an ambassador of Guinean innovation.
The grant amounts, of up to 200 million GNF, as well as the technical support granted to the finalists, illustrate the government’s determination to transform these ideas into concrete achievements.
