Midtjylland makes radical decision regarding Darío Osorio: “Not up to the task…”

Midtjylland are preparing to play one of the most crucial matches of the season in the Europa League. This Thursday, the team travels to Port du Dragão to face FC Porto, with the ambition of remaining at the top of the standings and hoping to qualify for the next phase of the tournament.

However, a lack of size will be felt with the Chilean Darío Osorio. The latter is in an advanced recovery phase, and the coach chose not to expose him during this meeting in Portugal.

He will not be present this Thursday. We are at a stage where the risk of aligning it is too great (…) it is not worth the risk”, said coach Thomas Thomasberg, thus confirming his absence.

The tactician also insisted that he does not want to lose Darío Osorio again. The former Universidad de Chile player suffered a muscle injury on November 7 and has been unable to participate in many competitions since, including matches in the Danish league, Europa League and La Roja qualifiers.

Therefore, his return to the field is now scheduled for 2025. Indeed, the calendar foresees an interruption of the Danish league, and he should be available from January 23 for the Europa League match against Ludogorets.

A special celebration of Darío Osorio

However, the curiosity lies in the recent publication of Darío Osorio on his social networks. The player, originally from Hijuelas, celebrated his first wedding anniversary with his partner, Catalina Díaz. “Happy birthday my love, I love you today and always,” he wrote on his Instagram account, accompanying the message with several photos from the ceremony and the moments they have shared since their arrival in Europe.

This announcement was greeted with enthusiasm by supporters who hope to see him return to the field quickly for the end of the season in Europe, which is planned for the first half of 2025.

In the world of football, injuries are a reality that every club must manage with caution. The decision not to rush the return of Darío Osorio illustrates a thoughtful approach that prioritizes the long-term health of the players. In a context where the pressure to perform is omnipresent, it is essential not to ignore the body’s signals, even if it means sacrificing important matches. Squad management and informed decision-making can often make the difference between a successful season and disappointing results, and in this sense, the coach shows that he understands the challenges of the modern game.
