In Montsûrs, vigilance is required after the report of a stranger who offers a child to get into his car

Should you be worried in Montsûrs, this small town north of ? A child was allegedly approached by a motorist aboard a gray car, the municipality indicated this Wednesday on its social networks. The events allegedly took place last week (Monday December 2) near the town's sports complex and the man allegedly encouraged the child to get into his car. But without success. Sports clubs and the municipality have therefore published calls for vigilance to parents. A report was made to the gendarmerie. On site, the parents are a little psychotic after this not very reassuring news.

“We tell ourselves that we have to be more vigilant”

We notably meet Sylvaine and her daughter Sidonie, at Saint-Martin college, in the streets of Montsûrs. The mother learned the news on social networks. “We tell ourselves that we must be vigilant and that we must warn as many people as possible”explains Sylvaine, “so that all children pay close attention”. For her, even Montsûrs can be affected by this kind of matter, “We think we are safe, but it happens everywhere and we have to be extremely careful, we have a fairly vague report”. She doesn't watch all the gray cars go by either, “When I am with my daughter, I know that nothing can happen to her, however, we warned her, telling her to be careful if she ever saw something, to try to identify the type of car and note the plate”. “It happens more when I'm not with her.”conceives the mother, who hopes that it will not go too far. “If we could stop the person and tell them that these are not things to do that would be better”.

“At the exit, I’m here”

In front of the Montsûrs sports hall, parents and grandparents keep a closer eye on all the cars. Whether they are gray or not. “My daughter sent this to her cell phone voicemail.”explains Marc, he takes his two grandsons to judo, “so I'm going to stay there, usually, I go around the football field, I know they're busy, but when they leave, I'm there”. A mother, who does not wish to speak on the microphone, explains for her part that she has made arrangements. From now on, her nine-year-old son no longer comes home from sports alone and must notify his mother once he goes out.

Everything leaves of a report made last Monday by the mother of a young person from the town's basketball club. The head of the section is notified and reports to the town hall and other sports clubs. This is how David, head of the football school at the Montsûrs club, was informed. “We learned about it through the networks and through basketball, which informed us”he explains, “so we relayed the information to the leaders and we informed all the families via our email contacts”. Vigilance is required to monitor little footballers. “We are careful, especially since we have training that ends late in the evening, it gets dark, we have many children dismissed so we are even more vigilant”adds David.

Before deleting his post on Facebook, the municipality reminded that it was necessary keep your eyes open. Contacted, the mayor of the town, Benoit Quintard, believed that he had no other information to communicate before the message was deleted. The gendarmerie is now busy carrying out several checks.
