The special bill was presented to the Council of Ministers on December 11. It will be examined in the National Assembly from Monday December 16, then in the Senate in the middle of next week. Ahead of the debates, the resigning ministers of the Economy Antoine Armand and of the Budget Laurent Saint-Martin are therefore heard by the deputies, then by the senators of the finance committee.
This very short special bill – it includes only three articles – aims to maintain the authorization to levy taxes, to allow the State and Social Security to resort to borrowing, and to initiate certain expenses. The scope of action of the resigning government, however, remains extremely limited, since the special law renews all these measures to their 2024 level.
