When you think there aren’t any left, well it turns out there still are. Launched at the beginning of November, work to revitalize Huveaune is underway. But after the different phases of consultation deployed over the past year – in particular to deflate the very strong tensions which had appeared around the fate of the park’s trees – by the City, the Metropolis and Epage Huca, a public establishment managing the watershed of Huveaune, the population is once again called upon to give its opinion.
Wednesday, December 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Epage Huca opens a new time for consultation and exchange, this time aimed at the Parc de la Botte basin. An artificialized space, empty and littered more with tree branches than ducks, for which City and Metropolis asked Epage Huca to imagine a new life.
Imagining the future of the park
“This workshop will offer the opportunity to contribute to imagining the future Botte basin, a space that aroused keen interest during the consultation phase of spring and summer 2024, in order to design developments that best meet the needs and the aspirations of park users“, indicates Epage Huca.
During the discussions, “various proposals are made to redevelop this space“: a tavern with terrace, a grove of biodiversity, a pond with ducks, a picnic area, games for children… The creation of a skatepark was also mentioned while the small bowl of the Bras d’or is little used and the practice is very successful around Aubagne and La Ciotat.
One thing is sure, “the consultation showed that a majority of people wanted the waterproofing and filling of this basin“, indicated Epage Huca last September. What the City confirmed by announcing in its municipal magazine that it will be “partially filled“. The next few weeks will tell what new face this part of the park will take on for the moment without any real purpose.
Concertation Wednesday December 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bassin de la Botte then at the Espace des Libertés. Registration with [email protected].
