After a few odd jobs at the end of her studies, Claudie Grelet started as a substitute at the post office in 1982, in Saint-Mathurin, while also being a childminder at the public school. She started as a cleaner at the school, cleaning there in the evenings, for 35 years. When the school restaurant opened in 1985, she served there. In June 1990, Claudie Grelet obtained the position at the postal agency, she will leave it next January. She became responsible for the library in May 2023. This means that everyone knows her well.

Morning post, lunch canteen, evening cleaning, it’s a race every day for years.

“We’re going to have a hard time replacing her! “, worried the mayor, Albert Bouard, when Claudie asserted her retirement rights. But Emmanuelle Dufour will arrive from Seine-et- on December 20 to resume her duties.

Claudie leaves with many beautiful memories… Like last week, when she announced her departure to a post office customer: The lady started crying! I told him I wasn’t dead!

What Claudie liked best about all these positions was the contact with children, colleagues, customers of the post office or the library and the wonderful encounters with the people of Mathurin. The bad memories, the noise and the rain for the school canteen, but we will forget that very quickly. As a reminder, when Claudie was in charge of the canteen, the school was located on rue de la Millière, it was a nice walk to take the little ones there.

“Do nothing”

Mother of two grown children, Solène and Boris, the new retiree is also grandmother of Rose, 3 and a half years old, and Paolo, 14 months.

What is his big project? Do nothing. But after so much activity, I can’t stay without doing anything except finally take care of myself, walk, hike and pamper my grandchildren. And I still volunteer at the library. »
