Dutch police announced on Tuesday the arrest of three people suspected of being involved in an explosion and fire in an apartment building in The Hague that left at least six people dead. Authorities also said they had seized several cars, also hinting that they were not ruling out further arrests.

“Elements from the investigation currently indicate that the explosion targeted a bridal fashion store located on the ground floor” of the building, Tom Verhoeff, a police spokesperson, said in the evening, without giving further details. details. “We are urgently appealing to anyone with more information about what may be happening around this store or location,” he continued.

Car investigation

They said they received information after a call from police about a car that was seen speeding away from the scene after the explosion, which took place early Saturday morning. “Further investigation is necessary to determine if one of the cars was also the one that left” the scene, police said in a statement.

At least six dead

Rescuers discovered six bodies in the rubble of the collapsed building since Saturday. Four people are still hospitalized, two of whom are still in serious condition.
Three people who died were part of the same family: a man and a woman aged 45 and 41 respectively, and their 17-year-old daughter. An eight-year-old boy is the only survivor of this family.

The other three victims were men aged 31, 44 and 63. Nearly 600,000 euros were collected to help the victims of the explosion.
