– Traffic was interrupted on part of the RER A line this Monday, December 9, 2024.

Particularly complicated day for Ile-de- residents used to going to work in RER A. Traffic was interrupted on part of the line, Monday December 9. In a press release sent to AFP, echoed by Ouest France, RATP explained what is paralyzing the network: “Around 5:45 a.m., an overhead line was torn off by a train on RER line A in Auber. By tearing off, the cable damaged a water inlet pipe causing a significant leak near the train. Passengers on board the train [affecté] by the incident on the catenary were evacuated safely.”

Concretely, no train was able to run on the line between the Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile and Nation stations, to the west and east of the capital. Before being able to resolve the problem of catenarythe RATP teams had to work to resolve the water leak, note West France. Thus, we had to wait until midday for the RATP to announce that its agents were working to “replace torn cables”. Obviously, this incident disrupted the entire network.
