Senegal: Ligue 1 – US Gorée Takes the Lead After Jaraaf’s Draw Against Wally Daan

Dakar — ASC Jaraaf drew 1-1 against Wally Daan on Monday in Dakar during the sixth day of the Ligue 1 national championship, leaving first place in the standings to US Gorée.

Before their meeting against Wally Daan, Jaraaf (12 points, +6) occupied the second position in the table, but they managed to maintain their ranking.

US Gorée (13 points), the provisional leaders of Ligue 1 after their victory over ASC Hlm (2-1) on Sunday, are now sure to occupy first place until the next day.

The islanders took advantage of a 1-1 draw in the final match of the day between ASC Jaraaf and Wally Daan to stay at the top of the national championship.

US Gorée has now recorded three consecutive victories in six outings.

The victories of the islanders and that of Dakar Sacré Coeur (3rd place) against US Ouakam (2-0) on Saturday relegated the reigning champions, Teungueth FC (11 points, +4), to fourth place.

The Rufisque-based club lost at home against Oslo FA (1-2) on Saturday.

In other matches played on Sunday, Casa Sport recorded its second consecutive goalless draw against Ajel de Rufisque (7th place).

In search of a victory, the flagship Casamance team occupies fourteenth place in the general classification.

Rooted in the relegation zone for several weeks, La Linguère held Guédiawaye FC to a draw with a 2-2 draw at the Alboury Ndiaye stadium in Louga.

Despite this draw, the Saint-Louis-based team remains penultimate in the standings with four points.

The bottom team, Jamono de Fatick, managed to obtain a draw at home against AS Pikine (10th place, 7 points, -2).

Sonacos de Diourbel climbed to sixth place after recording their second victory of the season (2-1) against Génération Foot.

The team coached by Deni Birame Ndao (Dakar) plunged further down the rankings, going from 11th to 13th place.
