The disciplinary committee of the Professional League (LFP) has decided to stand aside in the conflict between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and its former player Kylian Mbappé, who is demanding that the club pay him 55 million euros. euros of salaries and bonuses.

A hearing which brought together the two parties was held late Wednesday afternoon at the League to examine the star's appeal for “failure to pay bonuses and salaries”while PSG had refused to pay the 55 million euros requested by its ex-player despite the injunctions of the LFP legal commission (September 11) then the joint appeals committee (October 25). It was following these two decisions that PSG took the LFP to court.

Solution amiable ou tribunal

With this decision by the League, PSG obtains that the dispute between it and its former flagship player be judged before a court “like the industrial tribunal”what he wanted, and “stands ready to fully present the situation before the competent court”he specifies. He nevertheless reiterates “his hope that an amicable solution can be found so that all parties can finally turn the page”.

The conflict finds its origins in the status of an agreement reached in August 2023 between the attacker and the management of the Parisian club. The captain of the Blues was then excluded from the group for refusing to extend his contract with PSG. This extension would have guaranteed the club to receive the money from a transfer while Kylian Mbappé finally signed up free this summer with Real Madrid.

In this agreement, the player agreed to waive 55 million euros in various bonuses if he were to leave free at the end of the season. But the validity of this agreement, which the player himself had mentioned publicly to journalists in January, is contested by the star's camp, which describes it as“occult”.

Kylian Mbappé requests payment of a sum of 55 million euros which includes the final third of a signing bonus (36 million euros gross) that the player was supposed to receive in February, the last three months of salary provided for in his contract (April, May, June), as well as an ethics bonus during these three months.
