From January 1, 2025, the price of service vouchers in Wallonia will be indexed semi-annually to adapt to inflation. This reform aims to guarantee the financial viability of the system while distributing adjustments gradually.
In accordance with a decision taken by the previous government, the price of service vouchers in Wallonia will be indexed up to twice a year, in January and July, from 2025.
This indexation aims to take into account changes in prices, allowing more balanced financing for companies in the sector while protecting workers.
The first increase, effective January 1, 2025, will bring the price of service vouchers to:
- €10.20 for the first 175 individual service vouchers or 350 service vouchers for a household
- €11.20 for the following service vouchers (up to 400 for a person and 800 for a household)
- €12.20 for the latest quotas (up to 500 for a person and 1,000 for a household)
Tax deduction and validity unchanged
Despite this indexation, the tax advantages remain the same. A 10% deduction continues to apply to the first 150 service vouchers purchased per year and per person.
In addition, service vouchers acquired in 2024 at a price of €10 will remain valid in 2025 at no additional cost.
Why this reform?
The biannual indexation is part of a reform that came into force at the beginning of 2024, aiming to:
- Ensuring the financial viability of the service voucher system in a tense economic context
- Protect the sector and its workers, ensuring gradual adjustments rather than sudden increases
- React to economic fluctuations, while fairly distributing impacts for users
When and how?
The first price update will take place on January 1, 2025, followed by a possible second indexation in July, depending on observed inflation.
Users should therefore expect a gradual but regular increase in the price of service vouchers.
