On the heights of Clermont-Ferrand we quickly notice the ease of his stride. Interval session on hills, for Margot Dajoux it seems almost easy. Margot is in full preparation for the European junior cross championships, with her coach Patrick Bringer. Since her competitive debut, Margot has been collecting podiums. A passion for running which began at home in Vollore, in the Thiern mountains. “I discovered this when I arrived at college and we did middle distance in PE (Editor's note: Physical and Sports Education). I started participating in UNSS cross country (Editor's note: Union Nationale du Sport Scolaire) and I immediately loved it. I started running from home. »

“The main quality is work”explains Patrick Bringer. “You have to love training and she really likes it. She has strong organizational qualities in her everyday life, in her academic success and in sport. She goes through the weeks and months with great ease. This consistency in training which is his main quality. »
High-level sport mixes with his studies. Margot is a student in a chemical engineering school prep class. Admission to a prep class after a baccalaureate validated very easily at the Blaise Pascal high school. The young woman explains : “I got the distinction Very Good with the congratulations of the jury. I was happy to have managed to do both in high school. I got an average of 18.88 it seems to me. » She is already one of the best in her class. With her status as a high-level athlete, she benefits from 3 years instead of 2 to enter an engineering school : “She excels in sports and she also excels in studies. She has excellent personal organization. She knows how to manage her time between training, competitions, recovery and studies,” rejoices Jean-Louis Canet, teacher-researcher at Sigma Clermont.
Outside of university, from running sessions to physical preparation, Margot devotes 10 to 15 hours per week to her training. In sport as in school, it is determination that makes the difference, according to her: “The fact of having something else on the side when things are less good, we can rely on the thing that is going better. It also helps to optimize your time. As there are several things to manage, it forces you to be efficient and give your best. » A specialist in cross country or mountain races, Margot is also among the best on the road. French hopeful champion of the 5 kilometers in 16.03 minutes, a record time for this category which suggests her potential in athletics for years to come.
