Benoît Picandet takes over as sales director of Hyundai

After the departure of Maxime Nathan to the BPM group, Hyundai began looking for a new sales director. The seat will now be occupied by Benoît Picandet, who comes straight from the Stellantis group.

The name of the new commercial director of Hyundai France is now known. The French subsidiary of the South Korean manufacturer formalized, on December 2, 2024, the arrival of Benoit Picandet in this key position.

He arrives to replace Maxime Nathan. The latter having taken the path of concessions. Last October, the group BPM in fact, hired him to entrust him with the Aston Martin and Morgan brands.

Having studied at the Edhec business school in , Benoît Picandet is a pure Stellantis product with PSA origins. His career with the manufacturer spanned from 1998 to 2024. It began at Peugeot in Portugal and ended at Opel France, where he served as sales director for more than three years. Between the two, he worked exclusively for the lion brand in various management positions.

As sales director of Hyundai France, he will report to Lionel French Keoghpresident of the subsidiary. And the latter explains by way of communication: “Benoît Picandet will aim to ensure the growth of the brand on the French market by developing its market share, in particular thanks to the increase in sales of 100% electric vehicles.“.

His task will not be easy. At the end of November 2024, Hyundai France recorded 40,105 new car registrations. The brand therefore suffered a volume loss of 10.5% on an overall market declining by 3.7%. With only 5,129 electric cars delivered in eleven months, the subsidiary has fallen by more than a third compared to last year, when the trend was towards balance in the country.
