The rumor had gained momentum in the paddock of the circuit of Losail during the Qatar Grand Prix : Esteban Ocon will not be at the start of the final round of the 2024 F1 season.

Doohan replaces Ocon at Alpine

Suggested by comments to the press ofOliver Oakes, the main team of the Enstone team, the news was confirmed this Monday morning: the Reserve driver Jack Doohan will replace the Frenchman at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, contested this weekend on the circuit of Yas Marina.
The Franco-English team justifies this unexpected change for “allow Esteban to be handed over to Haas to participate in post-season testing in Abu Dhabi”. Doohan, who has already been announced as an official driver for the 2025 season alongside Pierre Gasly despite some crazy rumors, will race with the number 61 and will also participate in team's end-of-season tryouts.
